How to Use PDA to Browse Internet via Bluetooth

If you want to test a website that you design for mobile devices, or simply want to access Internet from a PDA device, the following procedure shows you how to do so via Bluetooth connection.

1. Configure Bluetooth Serial Port


Launch Bluetooth Configuration wizard on your PC, select Local Services, and configure a Bluetooth Serial Port that will be used in ActiveSync. COM7 was configured as shown in the example figure.

                                             

 


2. ActiveSync Connection Setting


Launch ActiveSync Connection Settings dialog, check Allow connections to one of the following and select the Bluetooth serial port as configured in step 1 such as COM7 in the example.

 


3. Pair PDA with PC


Select ActiveSync via Bluetooth option from Bluetooth Connection Wizard on PDA,

 


and follow the instructions shown on the PDA to finish a shortcut to connection.


 


Once the shortcut is created, it remains in the connection wizard.


 

 


4. Establish Connection


Double clicking the shortcut created above, and the connection shall be established immediately. Meanwhile the ActiveSync program on the PC pops up for partnership establishment. Select the option you want.

 



5. Browse Website


Once the connection via ActiveSync is established, you shall be able to browse the Internet or intranet normally from the PDA.
